She added: “It was a fantastic evening had by all. We’re incredibly proud to have reached the final despite having only being open for a year. I’d like to personally thank all of our diners who kindly voted for us.”
Food awards judge Spencer Ollington praised the fine-dining restaurant, which brilliantly impressed the judges.
He said: “Galloways of Woburn’s food was exceptional and the service was impeccable.
“Its food experience gives customers homage to the traditional comforts of timeless cuisines, with an exciting contemporary twist at the same time. Comfort and excitement all in one.
“As soon as I arrived at the restaurant I felt welcome. It was a lovely place filled with lovely, genuine and passionate people, but unfortunately it just missed out on the top spot of best restaurant 2018.”
William went on stage to pick up his certificate at the glitzy awards ceremony on Sunday.
Speaking afterwards, William said: “I’m so proud to have been recognised despite being up against a lot other talented chefs in MK.
“It was a great evening spent with my colleagues celebrating the restaurant’s recent successes.”Spencer added: “William is an excellent chef, especially for his age, who only lost out on first place by half a point. It was as close to a hung jury as you’ll get. He will certainly go far and Galloways of Woburn are extremely lucky to have him.
“On any other day he would have been a deserved winner.”
