Milton Keynes is full of energy – making it the perfect place to make contacts and get networking, according to the chief executive of Willen Hospice.Peta Wilkinson spoke passionately about raising funds for the MK-based charity at Galloways of Woburn on February 21st where the Concrete Cattlemen had their first meeting of 2018.

After enjoying a two-course meal followed by coffee, Peta was welcomed to the stage to explain her role in facilitating funding opportunities with businesses in MK for Willen Hospice.Opening her speech, Peta said: “This is a great space, thanks for your invitation. The food was delicious!”

She added: “Willen Hospice only receives 22% of its funding through the NHS, meaning every year the charity needs to raise £3.9m.

“Milton Keynes is full of energy and it isn’t just about money, it’s about knowledge, exchanging on contacts and networking”.

Hosted by the Woburn restaurant, monthly guests are invited to speak at the Concrete Cattlemen business lunch to share knowledge and experiences with the local leaders of businesses in and around Milton Keynes.Former speakers include Lady Mary Archer, Dame Cleo Laine, Edwina Currie, Sir Ian McGeechan, Neil Back MBE, Sir EdwardTompkins, Budge Rogers OBE and last year MP of MK South, Iain Stewart.
