GALLOWAYS of Woburn’s Sous Chef has been named a finalist for Young Chef of the Year.
William Bowman Smith has ranked in the top 12 of M & Bookatable’s national competition.
The awards showcases the industry’s best up-and-coming talent, with the winner chosen by an expert panel of judges and diners.
William will now prepare to cook his favourite signature dish and present his menu to be judged, for a chance of being awarded first place.
The 24-year-old said: “I’m up against tough competition so I am excited to have made the final 12.
“I always strive to present top quality dishes that taste and look fantastic at Galloways of Woburn every night, so it’s an honour that this has been recognised.”
Owner Pam Gosal has praised William’s achievement and welcomed diners to taste his creations in the restaurant.
She said: “Our customers are always highly complimentary of William’s dishes.
“He has gone from strength to strength since starting out at Galloways of Woburn and we all wish him every success in the competition.”
William recently won second place in Chef of the Year at the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards.
